LEE Hwai Bin is an Executive Director at Christopher Chuah Law Chambers LLC. She graduated from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to both the Singapore Bar and the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales.
Hwai Bin's expertise lies in commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute management and avoidance, with a focus on built-environment sector. She has extensive experience in contentious construction and civil engineering disputes, High Court trials, and institutional arbitrations as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution, which includes mediation, settlement conferences, neutral evaluations and adjudications.
In addition to her contentious practice, Hwai Bin is well-versed in front-end construction work, involving drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on bespoke and various standard form construction contracts and ancillary documents. She has also undertaken tender risk management analysis, advisory work on investment acquisitions and disposals and funding due diligence for a range of clients including developers, landowners and financial institutions.
Prior to returning to Singapore in 2010, Hwai Bin worked for a leading international law firm in London, where she advised major clients like The British Land Company plc, The Crown Estate, Marks & Spencer, Hilton Hotels, Gazeley UK Limited, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Evans Randall (a private equity group specialising in real estate business).
Hwai Bin has contributed to the Singapore Precedents of Pleadings (Construction Section), 2006 and 2015 as well as the Construction Contracts Dictionary (1st and 2nd Editions), authored by Chow Kok Fong. She most recently contributed to Law and Practice of Construction Contracts (6th Edition) 2025), authored by Chow Kok Fong.
In 2025, she spoke at the National Conference on Construction Adjudication (NCCA), held in commemoration of the SOP Act’s 20th anniversary, and was invited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Asia Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) to present on legal developments in contract, risk, and dispute management. She also spoke at the Global Disputes Summit (Singapore edition) on managing disputes in mega infrastructure projects. Named in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in Singapore™ for construction law, Hwai Bin also plays an active role in coaching younger lawyers within the firm.
